Happy Kids Party Co. proudly serves Durham Region and the Eastern GTA with our full range of services, and also offers many of our character entertainment services - including Princess Parties, K-Pop Hunters and Miss Rachel, throughout the Western GTA, including Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Vaughan, and surrounding communities.
Our full range of services - including character entertainment, face painting, glitter bar, dance parties, painting parties, soft play, and more - is available throughout Durham Region and the Eastern GTA, including:
Some of our non-character services, such as Face Painting, Glitter Bar, Dance Parties, and rentals, have a more limited service area and are generally available only East of Toronto and areas east and northeast of Toronto.
We also travel to locations outside our standard service area - including:
Cobourg
Belleville
Peterborough
Lindsay
and other surrounding communities - subject to performer availability.
A travel fee and/or minimum booking requirement may apply depending on your location.
Travel fees vary based on driving distance, travel time, and the type of service being booked.
Some character entertainment services are available in Mississauga and surrounding areas with no travel fee.
If you’re unsure whether we service your area, simply send us your event address or postal code and we’ll be happy to confirm availability, any applicable travel fees, and minimum booking requirements.
We accept credit card payments and e-transfers, we do not accept cash.
A downpayment is required upon booking for all services, full payment is due on the day of the event.
That really depends on the service you are interested in.
We recommend booking 1 month in advance but we might be able to squeeze you in on a shorter notice if we have the availability.
Email us with the details of your event ( date, time, location, group size and age range ) and the service you are interested in. Let's discuss how we can make your party extra awesome!
Your booking is confirmed once we have received both your completed booking details filled out in a booking form and the required booking deposit (typically $50 unless otherwise specified).
Until both have been received, your booking is not complete, your date and time are not reserved, and we may continue accepting inquiries for that time slot.
If you cancel your booking more than 30 days before your event, your booking deposit will be refunded.
If you cancel 30 days or less before your event, the booking deposit becomes non-refundable. However, every booking includes 1 complimentary opportunity to reschedule, subject to availability.

To qualify, your request must be made at least 3 hours before your scheduled entertainment start time, and the new event date must take place within 12 months of your original booking.
The new date is subject to performer availability.
We understand that plans change. Emergencies happen, schedules shift, and unexpected circumstances arise.
If you need to cancel your booking, you may do so at any time. However, our cancellation policy applies equally to all cancellations, regardless of the reason.
Whether the cancellation is due to illness, weather, low attendance, a venue issue, a family emergency, or any other circumstance, our policy remains the same. Once your event has been reserved, we have committed our performers’ time, scheduled staff, and often declined other inquiries for the same time slot.
Our cancellation policy is as follows:
We know cancellations are never ideal, and we genuinely sympathize with families when unexpected situations arise. Our policy simply reflects the fact that our performers have reserved their time specifically for your celebration, and once that time has been set aside, we are usually unable to replace the booking on short notice.
If your booking is cancelled less than 3 hours before the scheduled start time, after your performer has started travelling, or after they have arrived at your venue, the full booking amount remains payable.
Our bookings are not weather conditional.
If you choose to host your event outdoors, it is your responsibility to have a suitable indoor backup location available in case of rain, cold rain, muddy conditions, or other unsafe weather conditions.
For the safety of our performers, costumes, equipment, and supplies, we are unable to perform outdoors in these conditions. Instead, the entertainment will simply move to your indoor backup location.
Your backup location should be available for the same scheduled date and time and be within a reasonable driving distance of your original event location.
For example, a backyard party may move indoors into the home, while a park party may move to a nearby residence, community centre, rented hall, or another suitable indoor venue.
If you choose not to provide an indoor backup location or decide to cancel your event because of the weather, the standard cancellation policy will apply.
Our performers often have multiple bookings scheduled throughout the day, so it is very important that entertainment begins and ends at the agreed-upon times.
For that reason, we are generally unable to wait for late guests.
If only the birthday child (or even just one child) is present when the entertainment is scheduled to begin, the performance will still start on time. The entertainer will simply tailor the experience to those who are present, and additional guests are welcome to join in as they arrive.
Please do not plan on delaying the start of the entertainment to wait for additional guests. Our performers are scheduled back-to-back throughout the day and must depart at the scheduled end time in order to arrive punctually at their next event.
In the very rare event that a performer happens to have extra time after your booking, they may choose, entirely at their own discretion, to wait for up to 5–10 minutes before beginning. This is a rare exception and should never be expected or relied upon when planning your event.
For the best experience, we recommend inviting guests to arrive at least 15–30 minutes before the entertainment is scheduled to begin..
Our performers are very punctual, and we build extra travel time into our schedules whenever possible.
However, unexpected situations such as traffic accidents, road closures, or vehicle issues can occasionally cause delays.
If we know your performer will be arriving late, either the performer or a member of our management team will contact you as soon as possible.
If a delay occurs due to circumstances beyond our control, your entertainment time will begin when the performer arrives, and they will stay for the full duration of your booked package.
If you’ve booked multiple services (for example, Face Painting followed by Glitter Bar), the order and timing of those services are finalized when your booking is confirmed.
If you’d like to make changes, please contact us as early as possible. Schedule changes are subject to performer availability and must be approved by management in avance.

If you’d like to extend your entertainment, please ask your performer whether they have availability or if they have to head to another booking right after your event.
If they do have availability, simply contact our management team and we’ll be happy to arrange the extension and payment.
Unfortunately, extensions cannot be guaranteed, as our performers often have other bookings scheduled immediately afterward.
Although this is extremely rare, we always have a backup plan.
We first look within our own team for a qualified replacement performer. If one isn’t available, we’ll make every reasonable effort to arrange a suitable replacement through another reputable local entertainment company.
Only in the extremely unlikely event that we cannot provide a suitable replacement or alternative would we issue a full refund for the affected service.
To date, we’ve never been unable to find a replacement or suitable alternative, and we work very hard behind the scenes to make sure our clients’ celebrations aren’t disrupted.
At Happy Kids Party Co., the health and safety of our clients, their guests, and our entertainers is extremely important to us.
To provide a consistent and objective standard, we follow the Government of Canada’s Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) when determining how outdoor entertainment will be delivered during periods of wildfire smoke or poor air quality.
This policy has been developed based on the Government of Canada’s AQHI guidance together with our responsibilities as an employer under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act to take every reasonable precaution for the protection of our workers.
Why do we have this policy?
Unlike many outdoor occupations, our entertainers cannot safely perform their work while wearing respirators or protective masks.
Many of our services - including princess parties, character entertainment, mascot appearances, dance parties, face painting, glitter bar, and children’s painting events - require constant interaction with children through talking, singing, dancing, storytelling, smiling, and close communication. These activities involve continuous speaking and, in many cases, significant physical exertion. Wearing a respirator would interfere with both the quality of the experience and the entertainer’s ability to perform the service safely.
In addition, our entertainers often perform multiple events throughout the day. While a single party may last only 30 minutes or one hour, an entertainer may complete several outdoor events over the course of a day, resulting in many hours of cumulative smoke exposure. For this reason, our air quality policy must be applied consistently to every outdoor event.
Poor air quality may also affect an entertainer’s ability to deliver the high-quality experience that our clients expect. Wildfire smoke can cause coughing, throat irritation, shortness of breath, eye irritation, and voice fatigue, all of which may significantly impact performances that rely on singing, storytelling, energetic interaction, dancing, and clear communication.
Finally, while parents and event organizers remain responsible for supervising children throughout the event, we believe it is important to do our part in reducing unnecessary exposure to poor air quality whenever possible.
Our Air Quality Policy:
Please check the Government of Canada’s Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) for your event location on the day of your event, shortly before your scheduled start time.
🟢 AQHI 1–3 (Low Risk)
Outdoor entertainment will proceed as scheduled.
🟡 AQHI 4–6 (Moderate Risk)
Outdoor entertainment can proceed as scheduled.
However, we strongly recommend moving the entertainment indoors whenever a suitable indoor location is available.
Although the Government of Canada’s AQHI guidance indicates that most healthy individuals can continue their usual outdoor activities at this level, our services often involve continuous speaking, singing, dancing, storytelling, and other physically active interaction with children. These activities place significant demands on an entertainer’s voice and breathing, and individual reactions to wildfire smoke can vary.
Moving the entertainment indoors helps reduce unnecessary smoke exposure and allows our entertainers to provide the highest-quality experience possible.
If an indoor location is not available, the entertainment will proceed outdoors as scheduled.
In the unlikely event that an entertainer begins experiencing symptoms during the performance - such as persistent coughing, throat irritation, difficulty breathing, or other smoke-related symptoms - they may need to modify the performance by reducing physically demanding activities or, if necessary, end the performance early for health and safety reasons.
Because an appropriate indoor alternative was recommended in advance and the entertainer reserved the scheduled time exclusively for your event, the full performance fee will still apply even if the performance cannot be completed due to smoke-related health concerns.
🟠 AQHI 7–10 (High Risk)
If the AQHI is between 7 and 10 at the time of your event, a suitable indoor location is required for the duration of the entertainment.
Our entertainers will arrive expecting to perform indoors. If the event is still planned outdoors, they will politely remind you of this policy and request that the entertainment be moved indoors.
If a suitable indoor location is available, the performance will proceed as scheduled.
If a suitable indoor location cannot be provided, the entertainer may be unable to perform safely outdoors. In that situation, the entertainer may decline to proceed with the outdoor performance.
Because the entertainer has reserved that time exclusively for your event, travelled to your location, and was ready and willing to perform in accordance with this policy, the full performance fee will remain payable if a suitable indoor location is not available.
If you are unable to provide an indoor location, you are also welcome to reschedule your event in advance, subject to availability and our booking policies.
🔴 AQHI 10+ (Very High Risk) For the health and safety of our entertainers and your guests, outdoor entertainment will not take place when the AQHI is 10 or higher.
A suitable indoor location must be provided for the duration of the entertainment. If an indoor location is not available, the event will need to be rescheduled to another available date.
Because the entertainer reserved the scheduled time, travelled to the event, and was prepared to perform under the conditions outlined in this policy, the full performance fee will remain payable if an appropriate indoor location is not available.
We understand that wildfire smoke and changing air quality are circumstances beyond anyone’s control, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Our goal is to provide a safe environment for everyone involved while continuing to deliver the magical, energetic, and memorable experiences that families expect from Happy Kids Party Co.
